Week 11 - Professionalism

Include the following in your Week 11 journal entry:
  • Discuss your results from the organisational zoo personality profile and the Jung typology test.
According to the organisational zoo personality test, I am an owl. I found it hilarious. Also, I found it interesting. According to them, my description personality is "eternal mentor, sharing knowledge to develop others". Is always dedicated and hardworking. Is never arrogant, self-interesting. I reflected about the test result with my personality, and I would say that there are many similarities. However, sometimes I feel that I am a bit arrogant when I ignore someone else ideas because I don't understand what they meant. It is an issue that I should look after.
According to the Jung typology test my type is ISFJ [ Introvert(9%)  Sensing(41%)  Feeling(6%)  Judging(17%)].  I found it very curious and pretty accurate because I could see myself on this description. "While their work ethic is high on the ISFJ priority list, their families are the centres of their lives. ISFJs are extremely warm and demonstrative within the family circle--and often possessive of their loved ones, as well ". But, there is some negative points that I could notice I am very familiar with, such as  "they (ISFJ) are notoriously bad at delegating".

  • Describe what you have learned about yourself in terms of your working style and preferences and consider how you will incorporate this knowledge into your future career.
I know that there were no correct or wrong answers when I submitted my thoughts. However, doing this test show me that some behaviours are key to develop leadership skills.  For instance, I am bad at delegating which is an essential skill for good leaders. In my future career, I should be able to lead with it. The solution that I consider most suitable to help me to overcome this problem is being committed people close, following the leaders' examples and watching their actions when they face adversities.

  • Repeat the student characteristics inventory from week 1
    • Describe how you have progressed and developed characteristics and skills throughout this study period
    • Identify how you might use these skills in future courses or work environments (or in your personal life)
I think it is hard to select which skills that I have made real progress because we do not develop only one apart. It is a long growing process like building a house that never ends, step-by-step, brick by brick. After so many weeks, I became more inquisitive than I was before. I am more inclined to ask questions, more than is necessary sometimes. It can be very positive in my work environment and personal life, as well. Seeking information and digging up for answers lead to innovation.
